I am excited to Walk for Water! Every day millions of people have to walk miles and miles just for water. Most of the time, the water they can find is contaminated and makes them sick. I am excited because Water Missions International is changing lives, one community at a time, through their sustainable safe water solutions. Once again, I am partnering with Charleston Southern University, where I spent 35 years as a professor, preparing future teachers. CSU has a mission to "prepare graduates and transform lives". Water is the great transformer, bringing health and opportunity. I am an advocate for girls and women who shoulder the burden of carrying water and for taking care of babies and the elderly in hostile settings where access to clean drinking and bathing water makes every day a struggle to survive. Together, we can transform lives. In addition, my family suffered two great losses in the months prior to the 2022 Walk 4 Water. Both my mother and sister passed over and many friends choose to donate in their blessed memories. Thank you.
Each dollar raised by this event is going to make an impact through a safe water community development project! Won’t you consider making a donation to support our vision?
Please see the link below http://blog.watermissions.org and read my blog contribution, explaining why this effort is so critical. If you are a CSU student, a special welcome to you! There is chapel credit for the walk!
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you will walk with us too!
