FAQ's

When and where is the Hudson Valley Walk for Water?
The socially-distanced group Walk for Water will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Hurley Reformed Church, 11 Main St., Hurley, NY, from 9 to 11 am. We will walk on the rail trail along Route 209.

The virtual Walk for Water can happen any time on September 19th or 20th and will take place wherever you please, in your neighborhood, or even out of state.

However you choose to participate, consider those who make that walk daily to retrieve water for their family. Bring any sized container to carry water in from a water bottle up to a 5-gallon bucket.

The safety of all our participants is our top priority. If COVID-19 restrictions prevent us from meeting in person, this event will be virtual only. Updates will be posted in the Hudson Valley Walk for Water Facebook page and on the website for Grace Community Church at grace4ulster.org.

How much does registration cost?
Individual Walker (All Ages): $25
Family Registration: $60

What is a socially-distanced group walk?
Small groups will walk together and will include members of an immediate family. These groups will maintain the required social distance from other groups during the registration and walk and will wear masks. The groups will start at staggered times as they arrive from 9 -11 am to maintain the required distance.

What is a virtual Walk for Water?
A virtual walk is a walk that takes place in a location of your choice, and participants are still united by a common purpose. We encourage you to walk a 3-mile route on Saturday, September 19th, or Sunday, September 20th, in your neighborhood, around your office building, in your local community, or anywhere that you want. More information will be provided as we get closer to the event.

For those that would rather join us for a virtual walk, please register for the walk online.
