Sue thanks you for your support!
Within the past 12 months, I have learned so much about the World Water Crisis, beginning with the United Nations 17 Sustainable Goals.
Goal #6 is to Provide Clean Water and Sanitation for All and begins by stating: "Clean, accessible water for all is an essential part of the world we want to live in and there is sufficient fresh water on the planet to achieve this. However, due to bad economics or poor infrastructure, millions of people including children die every year from diseases associated with inadequate water supply, sanitation and hygiene." Over 2 billion people on our planet don't have access to clean and safe water. These are people like you and me, with a desire to provide for their families and loved ones as best they can. Without a clean water supply, they watch their children and loved ones suffer and sadly, all too often, see them die from waterborne illnesses.
Burt Process first connected with Water Mission in the summer of 2018 when we supported the Grundfos (Chicago) Walk for Water. Since then, we learned that this Engineering-based, non-profit organization is positioned to tackle the world water crisis on a scalable level. For more information, please visit www.burtprocess.com/walk-for-water.
Water Mission is building a Global Water Center and Experiential Museum situated in Charleston, SC that will educate the general public on the seriousness of the world water crisis and will provide water and sanitation system engineering assistance to other non-profits looking to help communities around the globe. All this, while continuing to directly supply water treatment systems to over 4 million people in disaster relief areas, refugee camps and rural communities spanning more than 55 countries and multiple continents.
Thank you for supporting me in this walk and, more importantly, for doing your part for those around the world who desperately need our help!
