On September 26th, hundreds of us plan to take to the streets of our neighborhoods for the virtual Beaufort Walk for Water to bring safe water for life to thousands of men, women, and children across the world.
This is more than a Walk. It's an event that will impact people forever by providing lasting solutions that save lives. Join us as we walk so others won't have to. Together we change lives.
In the developing world, there is a lack of accurate health information on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Doctors and nurses do not have adequate, accessible, safe water for treating patients. Water Mission comes alongside local leaders, healthcare workers, and communities for the health and safety of millions of people.
Millions of women and children in developing countries walk over three miles to collect water for their family's daily needs. In most cases, the water they collect is not safe for drinking. Every 37 seconds one person dies from water-related illnesses. This is the global water crisis.
As little as $35 in the hands of Water Mission could provide one person safe water for life. A donation of $500 could provide a latrine for sanitation in a community. Solar panels for an average sized project are less than $1,100. Every $1 invested in safe water yields $4-$34 in economic return.
