Matt Bartz - Burt Process Walk for Water 2020!
Join us for the 2020 Burt Process Walk for Water to benefit Water Mission.
Water Mission addresses one of the largest challenges of our time - access to clean drinking water. Today over 2.2 Billion people lack access to clean water.
To date, Water Mission has provided access to safe drinking water to over 5 Million people around the world.
The purpose of our walk is to raise funds to design, build, and implement safe water and sanitation solutions. To learn more about the problem and how Water Mission is helping check out there site here: https://watermission.org/global-water-crisis/
Although this year the Walk for Water is held virtually, we are holding a walk locally around Mission Bay, starting from Fanuel Park to the Bahia and back. We will carry an empty bucket with us, fill the bucket with water at the Bahia, and walk back to Fanual Park. The purpose of this is to recognize the DAILY activity that Billions of people around the world must do to fetch safe water.
The day of the Walk is Saturday October 17th at 9am. Please message me or email if you are able to join for the walk. If you are unable to join in San Diego, you can set up your own walk around your neighborhood!
In either case please donate what you can, and if you are walking ask your friends and family to donate on your behalf! In fact just a few dollars can make a big difference. According to the UN,
"In any measure of efficiency, investments in water and sanitation have the potential to generate a high return. Every $1 spent in the sector creates on average another $8 in costs averted and productivity gained." 1
This is not only a great cause, but is also an economically viable problem that we can solve!
Please Message me or email if you are able to join us on our mission bay walk, or if you are interested in setting up a walk in your neighborhood!
