Welcome to the Dr. Linda Karges-Bone's Water Babies 2021 Team
I am excited to Walk for Water! Every day millions of people have to walk miles and miles just for water. Most of the time, the water they can find is contaminated and makes them sick. I am excited because Water Missions International is changing lives, one community at a time, through their sustainable safe water solutions. I call this my "Water Babies" team for three reasons: 1. I am a "Nana" now and I think of my grandchildren growing up in a place where clean water is unavailable and they might suffer from disease and it makes me sad; 2. Most of my team members are teachers, current and retired, and they consider all of their students to be their "babies" and want all children to be healthy; and 3. I am an advocate for girls and women who shoulder the burden of carrying water and for taking care of babies and the elderly in hostile settings where access to clean drinking and bathing water makes every day a struggle to survive.
Each dollar raised by this event is going to make an impact through a safe water community development project! Won’t you consider making a donation to support our vision?
Please see the link below http://blog.watermissions.org and read my blog contribution, explaining why this effort is so critical. If you are a CSU student, a special welcome to you! There is chapel credit for the walk!
Thank you so much for your support and I hope you will walk with us too!
