Welcome to My Personal Page
Did you know that
1. In Africa, women spend 200 million hours per day walking for water.
2. 443 million school days are missed every year because of the global water crisis.
3. One person dies every 37 seconds from water-related illnesses
4. Every $1 invested in safe water yields $4.30 in economic return.
5. 50% of the developing world’s hospital beds are filled with people suffering from water-related diseases
6. 4.2 billion people lack access to adequate sanitation
Watermission.org believes that the global water crisis can be solved. They take a comprehensive approach to combating the crisis with water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions. They design customized solutions for each community we serve and we partner with the recipients throughout the process. A successful project results in more time for work and education, improved health, and increased productivity for the community.
If you reside or are a guest of a resident on Dataw, please join our walk. Date: October 9th from 9:00 am to noon. Please register. If you register prior to September 1, you'll receive a free tee-shirt. Walk, jog, ride in your golf cart, walk your dog - join us! We'll begin at the Clubhouse and walk to the community center. Bring a small bucket, get it filled (or not) and return with your bucket. This is a symbolic walk to show support and raise awareness for the women and children who walk on an average of 3 miles to obtain water - often unsafe.
