How long does the Walk for Water take?
The Walk is approximately 3.5 miles, which takes about an hour to complete. There will be optional activities at SRP Park following the Walk portion of the event. These activities and the closing ceremony will last until 12:00 PM.

What is this event like?
After opening ceremonies at SRP Park, every participant will take a two-gallon bucket (provided at the event) and begin to walk a three and a half mile route across the 13th Street Bridge then via the Riverwalk into downtown Augusta. Halfway through the route, walkers fill their bucket with dirty water and carry it back to SRP Park. The Walk is symbolic of the trek that women and children make every single day to collect unsafe water.

Do I have to fill my bucket to the top?
No, you can fill the bucket to your desired level. If you do not feel you can complete the Walk with a bucket, you are welcome to walk without one.

Is this event suitable for children?
Yes, this is an event for all ages. It is engaging, informative, and impactful. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome.
