When and where is the Walk for Water?
Burt Process’s Annual Walk for Water will take place on Saturday, October 16, 2021. We will be having a kickoff located at 100 Overlook Drive, Hamden, CT. If you cannot make it to our in-person walk, we welcome participants to walk whenever & wherever is most convenient.


How much does registration cost?
 
Registration fees vary on your participant type. If you would like to receive a 2021 Walk for Water t-shirt, registration costs $15. You can also register for free if you do not wish to receive a t-shirt.

Where do donations go?
All donations given to the 2021 Burt Process Walk for Water will go directly to Water Mission, providing clean, safe water to communities around the world.

Will I get a t-shirt?
Only participants who pay to register are eligible for this year’s Walk for Water t-shirt. Participants must register by September 20 to get a t-shirt with their registration. T-shirts are not guaranteed for any registrants after September 20.

Can I register on the morning of the Walk?
Yes, registration will remain open through the event date.

How do I share about the Walk?
We encourage you to post photos and videos of your Walk to your social media accounts. We’ve created easy-to-use participant materials just for you. When you post, please tag Water Mission and use #Burtwalkforwater.


How do I join or create a virtual team?  
To join or create a team, click “Register” and then select the appropriate button. This allows you to search for and join a team that already exists or to create a new team. If you decide to join or create a team after you have completed your registration, email walk@watermission.org and we will assist you.

Can I join a team after I've already registered?  
Yes! Please email the name of the walker and the team to walk@watermission.org to be added to a team.


Do I need to join a team to be a part of the Walk?  
Being a part of a team is not necessary to participate in the Walk. You can register, raise funds, and promote awareness as an individual participant.

Can my friends and family register for the Walk?  
Yes, the more the merrier! Please spread the word. Encourage as many people as you can to either join your team or create a team of their own. Remember, the more money we raise, the more lives will be saved.

How do I send in a check donation?

 


1. Checks should be made out to "Water Mission."

2. Please include year of the Walk and name of the Walk in the memo section, and

a. If you are giving to a specific team or individual, include the team name or individual name in the memo section.

b. If you are a corportate sponsor, include the name of your company with the word “Sponsor” after in the memo section.  

3. Mail the check to 1150 Molly Greene Way, Bldg 1605, North Charleston, SC 29405.

What is the Burt Process Virtual Walk for Water?
The safety of our participants is our top priority. Due to COVID-19 we have created an alternate Walk option. This will give you the flexibility to participate in the Walk for Water by walking whenever and wherever you choose.
 

What is the virtual Walk option?
United by a common purpose, participants will walk to generate awareness of the global water crisis and raise funds to help the 2,200,000,000 people around the world who do not have access to safe water. We encourage you to walk 3 miles in your neighborhood, around your office building, or in your local community in support of the people who make this daily walk to retrieve unsafe water for their families.
We have resources to help make your virtual walk engaging and fun! Our Virtual Walk Instructions include things like a music playlist, ideas for children's activities, and fun and interesting ways to share about your engagement with your friends and family.

The virtual Walk can take place in any location. It may be in your local neighborhood, at a nearby park, or around your local community. .
