For more than 70 years, Hach has provided innovations to support customers. Hach gives customers confidence in their water analysis by delivering expert answers, outstanding support, and reliable, easy-to-use solutions. Hach analytical instruments, services, software, and reagents are used to ensure the quality of water in a variety of industries in more than 100 countries globally.

In 2018, Hach hosted its 5th Annual Walk for Water, in support of Water Mission, at Colorado State University's campus. The event brought together over 400 employees, family members and friends who walked in solidarity with the millions of women and children in developing countries who walk an average of 3.2 miles on a daily basis to collect dirty water.

Together, last year's Walk raised over $83,000 to fund a safe water project in the community of Mkinga, Tanzania. Below are the project updates from the past years' funds.

The community of nearly 1,000 people was in desperate need of clean water. Water Mission installed a water storage tower that now provides safe water access to a male and female boarding school. Children will not have to waste time walking to get clean water, and are not becoming sick and missing school days because of water-borne illnesses.

2016 Walk Funds: Huta Ginjang, Indonesia

Huta Ginjang is a community of 2,130 people. They are thankful to Hach for their commitment to provide safe water to their community. Their systems are fully operational and safe water will give them a chance to access water only steps from their homes.

2015 Walk Funds: Kunya, Kenya

Kunya

The community of Kunya is home to 5,600 people. Because of safe water, the village no longer struggles with typhoid. They acknowledge that the water treatment project has unified their community and given them a chance to excel financially, physically and mentally.

2014 Walk Funds: Munami, Kenya

Munami

Penina Shikuku, a school teacher, says, "Students don't have to go out of the school during dry spells in search of water, thus, the girls don't suffer harassment from villagers. As a school, we are saving money that was previously used to purchase drugs for treatment of waterborne diseases at the school dispensary. Time management among students has really helped improve academic performance."

Thanks for your dedication, the village of Munami now is healthier and happier. Time previously spent gathering water can now be used to study, and learn new tradese.

Water Mission is thankful for our continuing partnership with Hach and we hope you will enjoy the updates, knowing the impact you have made.

Water Mission has delivered safe water solutions in 55 countries since 2001, and have provided safe water access to nearly 4 million people so far.
