When is the Walk for Water?
The 5th annual Walk for Water will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2020. The walk will begin around 11:00 am following our morning registration for the walk and our opening ceremony.

When does online registration close?
Online registration for the walk will close at 10:50 am on the day of the walk.


How much does registration cost?

Registration for the walk will cost $10. This registration fee will go directly to Water Mission to help them combat the global water crisis with water, sanitationa nd hygiene (WASH) solutions. 


Can I register the morning of the Walk?

Yes! Day-of registration for the 5th annual Walk for Water will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 11th and goes until 10:45 am. 


Why should I fundraise?
The Walk for Water provides an opportunity to help raise awareness and support for Water Mission's ongoing efforts to fight the global water crisis. Your friends, family, co-workers, and classmates care about what you care about, and they want a way to do something that's bigger than themselves. So, why not fundraise? We provide you with all the tools you need to be successful in telling our story and fundraising. 


Where should I park?
There are a number of parking options on and around Clemson's campus.

-Parking is FREE in the Keith Street Parking Deck, along College Avenue all day Saturday and Sunday.

-Visitors who visit the campus on weekends (excluding home football game weekends) can purchase an online weekend visitor permit for $8. The weekend permit allows you to park in unrestricted employee and student parking spaces for the entire weekend from 4:30 pm on Friday through 7:00 am on Monday. In order to purchase an online weekend visitor permit, you must have a valid email address and provide the make, model year, color and license plate of your vehicle to create a guest account. If after creating a guest account and you are a returning visitor, go to www.clemson.edu/parking and click on Manage My Account. Individuals are able to purchase weekend visitor permits up to four (4) weekends in advance. 

-Visitors are encouraged to park at over 400 conveniently located metered visitor parking spaces on campus without the need to obtain a permit. Metered parking is $2 per hour and multiple payment options include quarter, $1 bills, and credit and debit cards.


How long does the Walk for Water take?

The walk is approximately 1.75 miles, which takes about 30-40 minutes to complete. 


What is the Walk for Water like?

After opening ceremonies, every participant will take a two-gallon bucket (provided at the event) and begin to walk a three-mile route. Halfway through the route, walkers fill their bucket with dirty water and carry it back to the park. The walk is symbolic of the trek that women and children make every single day to collect unsafe water. 


Do I have to fill my bucket to the top?

No, you can fill the bucket to your desired level. If you do not feel you can complete the Walk with a bucket, you are welcome to walk without one.


Is this event suitable for children?

Yes, this is an event for all ages. It is engaging, informative, and impactful.


Can I join a team after I’ve already registered?

Yes. Please email walk@watermission.org to be added to a team.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we welcome all friendly dogs. We ask that you keep all furry friends on a leash for the duration of the event.
