When and where is the Walk for Water-Beaufort County?
Our 2021 Walk will take place on Saturday, October 9. Walkers will gather at 9 a.m. at dozens of host locations across Beaufort County. Find a convenient host location and join that team or become a Walk host and create your own team with family, friends, co-workers, or neighbors. If October 9 does not work for you, you may choose a time that’s convenient. You can walk in your neighborhood, around your office building or in your local community. You can even walk on your own — choose the option that works best for you.

What's this event like?
Participants walk a 3-mile route of their choosing. Participants are encouraged to carry a bucket containing a small amount of water if they choose. This symbolizes the walk women and children make every single day in countries around the world to collect unsafe water.

How much does it cost to participate?
Adults (Ages 18 and up): $25
Youth (Ages 5-17): $10
Children (Ages 4 and under): FREE

Where do donations go?
All registration fees and donations go directly to providing access to clean, safe water in communities around the world through the work of  Water Mission.

Will I get a T-shirt?
All pre-registered participants will receive a T-shirt. Register by September 1 to guarantee you’ll get your requested size. Host location captains will pick up T-shirts for everyone in your group before the Walk and get them to you.

How do I join a team or create my own?
To join an existing team, select “Join a Team” at registration and search for your preferred neighborhood or church.  They would love to have you join them!  That team captain will reach out to you with more information as the Walk date gets closer.

To host a location and create your own team, call James Pickard at 843-521-7182.

Can I join a team after I've already registered?

How can I feel part of the Walk for Water-Beaufort County if I just walk by myself?
We have resources to help you feel part of the bigger Walk for Water-Beaufort County community. They'll help you share your experiences with your friends and family and make raising funds and awareness easy on social media. Take a look at our
Raising Funds and Awareness Guide .

Why should I raise money?
The Walk for Water provides an amazing opportunity to help raise awareness and supper for Water Mission's ongoing efforts to fight the global water crisis. Your friends, family, co-workers, and classmates care about what you care about, and they want a way to do something that bigger than themselves. Together, you can change lives.
Check out our comprehensive Raising Funds and Awareness Guide for resources to help you share easily on social media.

No, you can fill the bucket to your desired level. If you don't feel you can complete the Walk with a bucket, you're welcome to walk without one.

What else should I bring?
Come prepared for the weather that day. You might consider bringing water to drink, a hat, sunscreen and bug spray, or possibly a light jacket.
